Call for Comments:
Extended Undertaking of Voluntary Commitments by Grab Philippines
to the Philippine Competition Commission

The Philippine Competition Commission invites Transportation Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) drivers, the riding public, and other interested parties to comment on the proposed extended undertaking of voluntary commitments submitted by Grab Holdings, Inc. (“GHI”) and MyTaxi.PH, Inc. (“MTPH”) to the PCC.

During PCC’s review of Grab’s acquisition of Uber in the Philippines in 2018, Grab offered voluntary commitments to address the competition concerns arising from the transaction. These commitments formed part of the conditions to which Grab was subjected by PCC to clear the transaction on 10 August 2018.

To address, however, the continued lack of viable competition and the subsistence of the competition concerns identified by PCC, Grab, in consultation with the Commission, offered to amend its Undertaking by proposing a new set of voluntary.

The public may send their comments via e-mail to adjudication@phcc.gov.ph with subject title “Comments on Extended Voluntary Commitments by Grab Philippines,”  on or before 10 November 2019.
